Reading

Once upon a time, when I commuted, living in London, England. I used to always have at least one good reading book on me, and a load of work-related material I didn’t have time for during the working day. I was never without something to read. Forget the morning papers, just find something to focus on that is good for you. Over the years I must have read thousands upon thousands of books for fun, and an equal number for work or private study. Now I tend not to buy physical books due to my Kindle ebook reader being far lighter. I miss books though, especially hunting out obscure texts in antiquarian bookshops.

If someone says reading is not important, then their priorities are all wrong. Reading relaxes the mind, and focuses energy. I’ve learned more on the “Tube” than I did in years at university. In fact if public transport was more reliable I’d use it all the time, just so I could read.

If you are an employer, ask about the last couple of books a person read. It will give you an insight into them, forget asking what they Binge watched, that just shows they can shut down and veg out.
