Poem: Something for Nothing

Freebie
Freebie

A love so easy, light and free,
No price to pay, no debt to see.
But whispers weave beneath the vow—
The hidden cost comes calling now.

A gift so sweet, no strings attached,
A deal too good, a bond unmatched.
Yet every favor, every grace,
Leaves footprints time cannot erase.

A heart laid bare, no walls to climb,
A stolen moment, borrowed time.
But empty hands and hollow weight
Will tally debts that come too late.

For nothing given, nothing earned,
The lessons lost, the bridges burned.
And in the end, you stand alone—
A love once free, now overthrown.
